Haifa and Akko (Day one of our trip)

He's ready to go!

On the bus and ready to go north & some pretty scenery along the way.
Leaving Jerusalem

We made it to Haifa! Beautiful view!
Part of the Haifa Port

We got entry to a small part of the Bahai Gardens in Haifa, we didn't get to see a lot of it, but with how large the place is the grandeur becomes apparent.

The part we wanted to get to but couldn't. Apparently you have to make an appointment/tour in advanced.

Next stop Akko (Acre)! An ancient city that was one of the stronghold of the Crusader Kingdom and home to the Knights Hospitaller and Templars.
Along the Sea Wall near the Old City of Akko

Yeah, he's fishing (picture mostly for Baruch's stepfather, Pete)

We took these for Pete. Who doesn't want to fish off a huge wall?

Or a random rock. We were trying to figure out how he got all the way over there :)

Michael and I decided to start photo bombing pictures throughout the trip lol

Can you find him photo bombing this panorama? (Zoom to see better)
Citadel of Akko's Old City, part Crusader part Ottoman

Mortars and Cannons installed along the walls after Napoleon's attack of Akko

Another photo bomb :)
All this area and a few above pictures were built by the Crusaders

Just messing around :)

The Great Knights Hall

In Michael's words this room was very game of thrones :-D

"Refectorium" is not English, yes it is a word but not English

Grave site of one of the leaders of the Hospitallers

A tunnel under the Citadel allowing soldiers to get around quickly

Templar Tunnels dated to the 12-13th Century

Michael photo bombing again :)
After the destruction of the Jewish Synagogue of Akko, they gave this room to the Jews and named it the Ramchal Synagogue, after Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzatto who spent last years of his short life in Akko

On our way out of Akko we stopped for more pictures on the water :)

The first pictures of Akko were taken from atop the wall now in the background

He decided to be a rebel and jumped the rail for a cool picture.
